Luke Goss Promises Realistic Tekken Movie

Luke Goss plays Steve Fox in the upcoming Tekken movie. The actor - who is currently starring as Prince Nuada in Hellboy II: The Golden Army - spoke to MTV about the character.
“I play him 15 years after his kind of champion days. He’s in the underbelly at that time of the Tekken environment,” Goss said. “He’s trying to find a protégé to go and kick some Tekken butt and he just might do it.”
Tekken, for those unaware, was a famous series of eight fighter games for various platforms, the first of which was released in 1994. Unlike numerous fighter games, Tekken came with the support of the martial arts community, who generally praised the game for its fighting styles, which bore a strong correlation to actual maneuvers.
Goss explained that those same moves have now gone full circle, as each and every fighter’s style has been carefully reproduced for the 2009 film.
“The same producers were very adamant to make sure that the characters that were in the game translated quite literally to the movie — visually and everything,” Goss said.
“Their fight styles were studied and the way they looked, the producers wanted people that looked similar to the actual characters in the game. They understood that genre fans and game fans would want that. I think they did a good job.”

In an exclusive interview with TopGunMMA, Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le
Franz: Did you play Marshall Law in the Tekken movie?
Cung Le: Yup, I'm Marshall Law in Tekken.
Franz: Is that in post-production now? Is that all finished up?
Cung Le: That's in post right now. They're editing right now.
Franz: Wow, so you're career's really taking off in the acting end.
Cung Le: The company who produced Tekken, is the company now who's managing me. So far, the two movies that I did had fighting. They were saying that's the best fight scene and they're actually going to send it in to see if that fight scene gets best fight scene of the year. With me and Channing Tatum, who's actually the lead for G.I. Joe now. The other one, Tekken, they said my fight scene with Jin is the best fight scene of the movie.
No wonder he got 21 stitches sa filming nun..hehehe

Luke Goss Talks Tekken
This entry was posted on 7/1/2008 2:00 PM and is filed under Interviews.
I did some interviews yesterday for Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and Luke Goss, who appears in that film under a lot of white make-up as a spear-twirling elven prince bent on Earthly domination, talked about his next movie, the just-wrapped big screen adaptation of the videogame series Tekken, helmed by Dwight Little (Murder at 1600).
"I play Steve Fox, the former leader, this crispy Tekken guy," says Goss. "He's not that old, actually — I say that because they surrounded me with a bunch of 21-year-olds. We filmed the fight scenes in their entirety, like 30 times, so we'd choreograph them and then go through the whole thing, which was very different than the work on Hellboy, and exhausting. And I think it'll definitely be a hard R rating, because a lot of the fans are, [well], also crispy Tekken dudes."
