this is not to contradict those who say marcos, for the sake of an argument lang ika nga, i was ony a toddler in the last days marcos was ruling so i did not feel the brunt of martial law but a lot are saying na magulo yung time na yun. So my question is: Ok lang ba na maganda ang ekonomiya pero marami naman ang takot?
Just to be clear: natanong lang po

i think i would say yes. not here in our country but in IRAQ. i had this wild idea back then while the US was in war with Iraq. There were no carbombs, killings and stuff when Saddam was still in power compared to today's daily death count. We all know Saddam was a brutal leader. And maybe because of his way of handling Iraq by killing and stuff he provided a stable Iraqi government.
I hope this answers your question. Iraq was stable with Saddam's iron hand because they live in fear compared to today's free but unstable Iraq where killings are a daily affair.
yup! Marcos really contributed a lot here in the Philippines during his time considering the fact that a lot of filipino people suffered in during these days...

sana balance lang...or mas maganda,,, maganda ekonomiya at namumuhay tayo ng payapa at walang kinakatakutan...
naku sa akin number 1 si gloria waaaaaaa kasi sya ang nagpamahal ng mga bilihin... saka sobra corrupt ng gabinete nya... na ang resulta nahihirap ang karamihang pinoy.. salaries are the same pero yung bilihin tumataas pa rin... besides we have ranked 3rd among the most corrupt country in the WHOLE UNIVERSE.... ganda diba waaaaa

I would chose gloria at a 7:10 odds and here's why:
i have been around enough to at least know what some of our elders have been saying at the time of Marcos and everytime the first edsa revolution's anniversary comes there are always documentaries to be watched on what happened then. it may be true that our economy was better when Marcos was president but I don't want to live in fear. Fear of the things I do and more importantly of the things I say. Look at Ariel Ureta, all he said was: "Sa ikauunlad ng bayan, bisikleta ang kailangan" what marcos did was he commanded Mr. Ureta to go around Camp Crame on two wheels for a week. I don't know if this story is true but you would certainly fear for your life granted you said something bad against the Marcoses. I have read somewhere a student was murdered because he said something against Imee marcos. I also don't want somebody to tell me what time I should stay off the streets, it is already enough that my father asked me to be in bed at 9 o'clock pm when I was 5-14 yrs old. I don't want a world where if i were to protest against the government, i will be labeled a "subversive" or a "communist" or both and be arrested. I don't want a world where I can speak but my ideas silenced... all for the sake of economy.
How is gloria any better?
Gloria looks like a girl-orc in Lord of the rings and should be replaced if the opposition could unite themselves to decide on who shoul run as president... I can say that and not fear for anybody to arrest me.

to each his/her own i guess
I just don't need a president that suppresses me in any way
(sorry but true)
Lopez Group - They owned the biggest TV/radio media sa bansa natin. Who ever they endorse for presidency ay tiyak na panalo.
Sumama narin ang mga Ayala sa ganitong business and that changes the lifestyle of our most kababayans.

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.
Haha. Oh, diba? At least, involved ako sa Givernment issues!
I have one....the little guy from DOH si Juan Flavier. He was the most loved of all the Senators of his time. I think he made a great impression on the people when he was still head of the DOH before become a good Senator. He made lots of programs and improvements within DOH.
